Favorite English Actors...

One of my favorite English actors would definitely be Benedict Cumberbatch. I think I first saw him in his TV show, Sherlock (which, by the way, is an excellent TV show), and I loved how eccentric he acted. He acts with Martin Freeman in a couple things, including (The Hobbit). Don't you just love it when you spot favorite actors in movies when you didn't know they were going to be in it? For example, I recently saw The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, and realized that Sylvester McCoy (my FAVORITE Doctor) was in it. He is Ratagast, the wizard who loves animals. He is just a funny actor, and I had no idea he was in it until his scene came up and I heard his voice. Another favorite English actor of mine has to be Patrick Stewart, the captain of the starship Enterprise in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Bald guys rule! So, what is your favorite English actor?

Here is Sylvester in Doctor Who and Hobbit.

Goodbye Matt Smith! We'll Miss You!

Goodbye, Matt Smith! We'll miss you on Doctor Who!

Every time I read about how Peter Capaldi is filming with Jenna Coleman, I just sniff and watch another Matt Smith episode. I remember when David Tennant regenerated into Smith and I just hated seeing Tennant go, at first I despised Matt Smith, but within a few minutes of seeing his funny humor (spitting out baked beans and apples next to the young Amelia Pond) I decided to like his character in the show. He played Doctor's part well, and I know we will all miss him as much as Tennant. Well, Peter Capaldi is a nice change from all of the younger Doctors. It seemed as though Doctor was somehow getting younger and younger, and Capaldi is kind of breading that theory. Plus, I am glad someone who has already had experience with the show is taking over Doctor's role (Capaldi was in "The Fires of Pompeii).

This is an interview with Peter Capaldi on BBC One, I loved it, as it showed just how humble Capaldi really is.

Doctor Who Adventure Games for free in US!

Hello, everyone! Today I am posting about how you can get the Doctor Who Adventure Games for free outside the UK for free from the BBC website! All you need is a program called Expat Shield. I have a Windows 8 and had problems installing it at first, but for Win8 users, I'll show you how to install it later in the post. For now, go to http://www.expatshield.com/ to get a copy of it. It is a free program and is safe to use. I have been using it for quite a while, now. When your download has finished, run Expat Shield. Your browser should open when you run the program. In the tab that opens, Expat will be running. Keep this tab open through this whole process! Once you have downloaded the Adventure Games you want, minimize your internet tab, and install the games. Remember to keep Expat running while the Games are installing. Another nifty thing I learned while using Expat was that you can also view things on the BBC iPlayer! Normally, no one outside the UK can view them. That means free episodes too!

So, how does Expat Shield work for downloading and watching things on BBC that you normally wouldn't be able to outside the UK? Well, I can't really answer this question properly, but what I can say is that it has something to do with temporarily changing your pc's proxy to a UK server. This tricks any UK video or download into thinking that your pc is located within the UK.

Alright Windows 8 users! To solve our issue with the compatibility problem. Normally, when trying to launch the Expat Shield installer, it will only bring up a prompt that says something like this:
Sorry about the fuzzy picture, but it says "The program has compatibility issues. You can get help on the Microsoft website.... Blah blah blah. Well, to fix this issue, you will have to restart your computer in network safe-mode. To do this, follow my steps.
Hold the "start" button and the "r" key at the same time and you should open the "Run" prompt. In the bar, type in the word msconfig and it should take you to this:
Click on the "Boot" Tab. I have it circled in red. Next check the box that says "Safe Boot", and check the dot that says "Network". I have both of these in red:
Click the "apply" and the "ok" button to save the changes. Your computer should bring up a prompt asking to restart your pc. Click yes and restart the pc. The computer should start up in "Safe-Mode". You will notice that your background picture is now a black background. Don't worry about this as it will go back to your previous settings when you restore the safe-mode settings. Now, you can easily install Expat Shield with no problems or compatibility issues. Once you are finished installing Expat Shield, do what I have told you thus far in reverse. That is, type the start+r combination again and type in msconfig in the bar. This time, you will un-check the safe boot box and the network bubble and restart your pc. Your pc will automatically revert to your old settings, this time, with Expat Shield installed. Happy gaming (or watching)! I hope this works for you as it did me!

Star Trek and other PC Games!

So, I have just bought Star Trek 2013 from Hastings and have been playing it for the past day. The plot isn't the best but the graphics are amazing! If you are a big Star Trek fan, you may be a bit disappointed in some respects, but overall, it is great! I love the facial expressions and behaviors of each of the characters! Have any of you played this game, and how did you like it?
Here's a quick shot I had in game-play.

Another huge favorite of mine has to be Portal and Portal 2. These two are the least violent, most interactive, and hardest games I have ever played. Not to mention the complexity of each character and where they came from. Super fun and I would recommend Portal to any thinker game lover.

Here's a shot from the first one. The little white, egg shaped robot is called a turret. They are so adorable! Well, and dangerous, of course. Haha!

Here is Atlas and P-Body, the lovable pair from Portal 2.

Ah, Matt Smith as the Doctor in "The City of the Daleks". This takes place in 1963 when the Daleks take over the Earth. You travel to Skaro to stop the Daleks from Destroying the Earth!

Now, has anyone played the Doctor Who Adventure Games? They are incredibly short and very fun! In the US, you have to pay for them but in the UK, they're free. Use a program called Expat Shield (watch a video on YouTube about it, it works!) to get all of them for free and be able to watch the BBC iPlayer.

Alright. I want to know your favorite game. What's your most favorite one?

K9 Paper Mache and Doc Who Episodes Online!

Hey Guys! As usual, I am building lots of Doc Who memorabilia. I have just finished painting K9's head and am figuring out his ears. His nose is now finished.
And! I have found a place for all desperate Whovians to find and watch episodes online! I don't use this site often because #1, I don't support piracy of any kind, and I already bought the series collections legally on Amazon. Knowing that, I am a little iffy on the domain of this website, but all the links lead to American websites. I also know how it feels to be just itching to watch Doctor Who and not having Netflix update their episode list! Well the solution is to either buy them on Amazon, or look for them on YouTube and other websites. The only downfall to this process is the amount of ads. Wah wah. Here is a link to the Doctor Who episodes on solar-movie. This is probably the best website for TV shows.
http://www.solarmovie.so/tv/doctor-who-2005/
Choose the episode you want to watch and there will be a list of links to follow to watch the episode. I found that the sharesix.com, sockshare.com, and thefile.me links are the best American websites. Just follow these steps and you can watch anything!
Here is where my link takes you. First click on the season the episode you want to watch is in. For this example, I will click on season 1, which has "Rose", the very first episode in the new series.
Alright. Here is the episode list. Down at the bottom is Rose.
Here is part of the list of links that it leads you to.
Look down a bit further for a sharesix.com link.

It should lead you to this page. Click on the big green button that says "Play Now".
Here is a screen-shot of what button leads  you to the video. Never click on the "Download/Watch now" buttons. They are ads and will try to download a virus. I have circled in red the "Free" button.

For almost all players like this, click the square play button. I have circled it in red for you. An ad will pop up. Close it and play the video.

Through this process, a TON of ads will either pop up in your browser, or pop up as separate windows. In all cases, simply close them. The most common ads are ones that say to update your browser. Your browser never needs updating! These are just scams that download viruses.

Use with caution and enjoy!

Another disclaimer: I do not own or claim any rights to Doctor Who. All logos, videos, and memorabilia belong to the British Broadcasting Corporation. All links and pictures are for fan enjoyment. No copyright infringement intended.

Also, as a side note, visit my youtube page as I will be posting full episodes there!

Night of the Doctor and the Regeneration Confusion

Before I begin, there are links to the 50th anniversary special and the "Night of the Doctor" below.

Spoiler alert! May contain spoilers to "The Day of the Doctor" (aka, the 50th anniversary special). Before I start, I know I am a dweeb for not watching all of the "minisodes" for Doctor Who, but I decided to start watching them to catch up. So, there were 7 Doctors in the classic series. In order from oldest to most recent, there was William Hartinell, Peter Troughton, John Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, and lastly, Sylvester McCoy. The 8th incarnation of the Doctor was Paul McGann, and only starred as the Doctor in the 1996 TV movie, Doctor Who. Now, according to the episode, "Day of the Doctor", David Tennant is not indeed the 9th incarnation, he is the 10th. John Hurt stars as "The War Doctor". Well, we have pretty much seen just about every regeneration of the Doctor except the regeneration from Paul McGann to John Hurt. "Night of the Doctor" explains everything about why the "War Doctor" exists. Another thing I was very confused about until the 50th anniversary was that when watching the new series, Doctor continually refers to "The Time War" and how he is the last of his kind (The Time Lords) and that the Daleks ruined his home planet. The Time Lords were definitely present during the classic series. For example watch the beginning of the "Genesis of the Daleks" (Tom Baker episode). I have a link to that in the Miniature Dalek Build post. Anyway, watch the 50th anniversary and most of all, don't miss "The Night of the Doctor" minisode. Here are some links you won't want to miss!

http://www.solarmovie.so/link/play/1772466/ (Day of the Doctor) Press the "free" button and close all the ads. No download, no survey, just video. Enjoy! I don't use this sight as I have already bought this episode on Amazon.

Also, for the Sherlock and Doctor Who mashup fans, is this picture great or what?
